What
is Reiki? Reiki
is a natural healing method that heals at all levels: physical, emotional,
mental, spiritual. The word Reiki is a combination of two Japanese words:
Rei and Ki. Rei means spiritual intelligence or supernatural
force; Ki means life energy. In the Western world Reiki is mostly
described as Universal life force energy. Reiki is practiced by people from
all over the world and is being incorporated in hospitals, as well as in
scientific research. 
What is a Reiki treatment like?
A Reiki treatment is a simple but powerful process. The healing energy is
channeled by the Reiki practitioner and goes to the places in the body where
healing is most needed. It is important to realize that these healing energies
go to the source of the problem and not just the symptoms. Reiki treatments
do not have negative side effects, it is a completely safe and natural way
of treating disease. 
Who can learn Reiki? Everybody
can; one who learns Reiki, connects with the universal healing energies
and uses these for self-empowerment and healing of their whole being: physical,
emotional, mental and spiritual. A Reiki practitioner is also able to assist
other persons, or any living being, in their healing. A Reiki practitioner
learns to create harmony, beauty, peace, love and joy in life, and shares
this with the world. 
About me. My name is Hans van Leeuwen,
I grew up in The Netherlands. I
completed a Ph.D. in Biology in 2004, in Barcelona, Spain. Currently I am
living in California.
Since 2000 I am a certified Tera Mai™ Reiki Master & Practitioner (My
Reiki Lineage). Reiki treatments and Reiki courses (in-person or at
